Decent cost on Avon Cobras

I have the same stand. IMG_0142.JPG Four sets of tires and no cupping. Works great.

Here in oz where I'm situated it's $390 au rear & $290 au frt balanced i do the r/r of the rims from the bike. Don't like watching the tire bin swapped very tight fit (freaks me out)but my tire man knows his stuff. Also l clean inspect, grease the spline detail rim & inspect rotors & wheel bearings.you gotta know you're ride intermittently
Why the enormous rip off in OZ?

Cobras delivered. Dyna beads at post office.

Cycle country will change tires at $35 apiece.

Will clean rims, do needed lubrication(s) and other stuff.

Puts total price about $472 for Avons front and rear, dyna beads and mounting off the bike.

Not as good as some, but decent price.

Assuming Canadians and Australians are subject to VAT or similar pushing tire costs up?

We need a tire smuggling ring.
It’s because of the ‘ Australia tax ‘. We are a distant island and at the importer’s mercy. No choice :-(

How hard can it be to buy tires.

Their computer down last week, could not get pricing. Then told me they can't mount a 240 series.

Salem shop wants $641 for Avons installed. Mount for "free". Dennis Kirk has a pair at $385. I guess the free mounting is $256 bucks?

Called Harley -Triumph dealer where I got the Roadster. They want $100 each for mounting on the bike. Could not locate tire info. No call back.

What are you folks paying? This turnip does not want to donate blood.☹️

Had the front tyre installed today, put in new wheel bearings and seals but the head race kits not arrived yet. While on the stand I noticed a little movement in the front, couldn't be sure where from on my own as difficult to rock the forks and feel for movement at the same time, especially don't want this one coming off the lift!
Looking at the Triumph parts list I don't see any fork bushes, now I'm hoping it is just loose/worn head bearings but please someone tell me you can buy just the bush and not the whole upper leg as an assembly?

Ooooh, if you can feel any play in the front bearings... perhaps tightening them until you get your new set might be safer. It's a tricky procedure. I let my experienced tech Rick @ Pasadena BMW do that. I have no training or experience so count my advice in fractions of a penny.

I changed mine when the tubes came off the change the seals @ 50k miles on an 07 Classic. AllBalls make a cheap set. Upper and lower roller bearings and races.

The motion pro bead protectors are worthless they can’t take the force it needs to remove rear tire bead, they split real easy.

Valid info. I take mine to the local Triumph/Suzuki shop. If they are to busy I use the local Honda shop.

The local T/S shop won't repair flats anymore. The local Honda shop will.

Since our local Triumph shop moved and changed management I have been using the local Honda shop mostly.
