Just a thought, fuel pumps are generally a pretty universal part. Perhaps Walbro makes a variant that will fit the bike.

Usually a supporting mod for more power, but, they're top quality and almost always cheaper than OEM, around 80-100 bucks, just make sure to order from a Walbro or a major vendor to avoid a China copy.

You are right about that. The pump in my K1300s is from an early 80’s ford. Fit right in and connected to BMW electrical pump and pump input filter screen.

Best of all $80 cor the premium brand Ford replacement vs 400+ for BMW

This one is apparently specially designed.

The reasoning for the 6 month backorder... The design is bad, so they have designed a new one and need to get it into production.

Until then, they are going to put one in that was warranty exchanged for a whining noise. So we get a used fuel pump until March when the new design is available. Once they decide how they are going to get it the 530 miles back to us after being fixed and they run it around for a few days to make sure it is "reliable"

Well we made to Bill's @Idaho Red Rocket 3 in Nampa, ID.
Miserable weather north from Ogden made us very glad we were now inside towing and not riding.
Wind was so bad we had to pull off and stop for awhile.
