Hello, from Louisiana

My 2010 r3t ignition switch just failed too

I've got a 2010 Touring. While looking for a short just after buying it two years ago, I found a burned white wire in a connector under the seat that had been bypassed by a previous owner.
I promptly got an EB Headlight relay and have had no problems. I took the ignition switch apart and found nothing there in the process. So at least I know the ignition switch was okay. I suppose that the burned wire took the brunt of an overload.

I've had the Decosse keyless on my want list for some time. Just got to do it! But now time for an oil/filter change before winter.

I have been very lucky. This is my first failure. LOL.
The switch was a little finicky a few weeks ago. So I was considering a new switch. But for a week the bike was just fine. I started to forget about it. So I took a ride to Arizona, about 100 miles away from Las Vegas. Its about 6 pm last Tuesday. Stopped off Rt 15 to take a break. Then... NOTHING> Switch would light up the gauges but no headlights. I was like wow. Am I an idiot or what? LOL 20% battery life on my phone. Luck was with me as my wife actually answered the phone. Of course she yelled at me for not fixing the switch lol. I have Geico insurance that gave me 75 mile towing. So that was great. Managed to get to Vegas about 1100 pm. All worked out. just waiting for dealer to call when the new switch comes in.
