Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

There have been multiple rides here in the UK with an expected global grand total in excess of $5.6 million dollars. Fantatsic work one and all!

65 bikes in small regional City of Orange NSW. Over half on Historic / Club Rego, I think we raised around $3000AU. We were pretty happy with the morning. Like others, the Rocket didn't fit the bike profile so rode my '80 Yamaha XV1000 (TR1) on club rego. All for a great cause.

Watsonian? I've seen a number of them but they were different. I almost bought one from a guy up north of me. I decided not to purchase it because it was a bike specific mount and found that it would be a bit of an ordeal to modify it.

Watsonian makes all of theirs to order with bike-specific mounts. The guy who owns this one (and the Dnepr, and all the Urals in the background) has opened up Canadian distribution for them here in Calgary.

He really thinks that I need one on the Rocket, but I like leaning too much. Plus I can take one of his if I need the seat. :)

I was thinking about participating, but had heard that - even with Triumph sponsorship - the Rocket didn't fit their style guidelines. If it's acceptable as a "Modern Classic", maybe I'll try and round up some of the other KC area captains and do it next year.

Phar2Slo: what color is that?!? Was that factory? Striking!

Thanks for taking the time to do the dgr ride captains, r3owners represented all over the world to help someone beat cancer and battle mental illness, pretty cool group of cats on here, thanks guys and gals

I joined the Derbyshire DGR 2019 this year.
It absolutely per-sisted it down all day - I have only just managed to get my leather jacket dried out today.
We must have forded a dozen flooded roads that day, mad, there was nothing that I was wearing that did not get wet.

However all for a good cause and the old girl did very well in the rain - two up and no problems.
Marvelous bike.

It kind of depends on how strict your local DGR coordinators are. In Asheville, NC we take anybody who wants to ride and contribute. Classic bikes go to the front, that's all.
