My mechanic (Ron Lambert Goldwings Plus) has my 2017 up and running (pretty nicely I might add). We used TUNEECU and a map supplied by TTS-Performance that Ron tweaked mildly. My headers manufactured by Paul (VikingExhaust) is very hot (the coating is flaking off) and I'm concerned about internal engine temps etc..... Any suggestions?

Did you lower the fan turn on temp? Are you running a innercooler? What did he stabilize the A/F ratio at. Are you using stock cams and cam timing? How much hp did she make when you tuned her?

Oh once you get her right are you going to carve the notch? Been up to Berlin and all I could think about was riding my beast up there.

Not sure about fan turn on temp (will check with mechanic). No intercooler (stage 1 doesn't have one). Stock cams. Didn't put on Dyno. Actually that reminds me to ask if anyone knows of a Dyno person in New Hampshire/Ma that is good with R3R?

Take a look at your ignition map. Might be your timing is altered some more degrees compared to stock to avoid detonation on pump fuel .

Check out Robs Dyno in Gardner, MA. Had my R3R tuned there.

Hi, I just logged in for first time in ages and saw your suggestion about Robs Dyno. My mechanic just reconnected with a friend who has a Dyno and asked me to fish around for answers to a couple questions. First (if I understand correctly) since the map sensor was disconnected is there a sensor (unless this one would work) which would provide boost info to the Dyno? What sort of boost are we looking for?

Hi again, Just spoke to Ron who is going to contact a buddy who's worked on Dyno mapping a supercharged Rocket III. He agreed we should have a 3 bar Map sensor feeding the ECU info and also mentioned tuneECU is not without bugs. I think however he's agreeing we stay with that software (more to come on it). Found out my 45 second wait required to start the bike was because the idle control valve was disconnected (per TTS performance instructions). New models should not have this.
