So last year I had my cam cover gasket replaced under warranty, as it suffered the known issue of bulging out just forward of the front-most cylinder.

My second gasket is now bulging in the same spot, but also it looks like it contracted back underneath the cam cover at the front right corner of the block and it's weeping a bit of oil. Does this seem indicative of the mechanic not torquing the cover to spec during the first replacement?

In the picture above the gasket is installed wrong take it back talk to the manager. If they are worth there salt they will make arrangements to do it again. If not we need to know their name especially if they are on face book.

It looks like they over-slathered sealer all over the gasket up front, allowing it to slide out when compressed. Also it looks like they didn't torque the cam cover bolts evenly. Lousy workmanship.

Obviously the mechanic doesn't own a bike if he works like this. No pride.

Thanks for the info, folks. I'm taking it in Saturday to have it fixed. I'll talk to the manager while I'm there.

Still waiting for you or @sonny to pop over and do mine. ;)
