My beautiful Rocket Touring is gone.

Sorry about the need to change but that Scout is a nice fast little machine. We had one for a while and it was quick.

The Scout is one of the best bikes offered in today's Market. Grand kid is getting one soon. He has been under my instruction while riding a Honda rebel for the last two years and is of age for a real Motorcycle. By far the bike is one of the best for the dollar. May not have much prestige but a **** good bike. Fast little Machine? Just a well built and designed bike period.

It's somewhat funny that riders like Sonny's grandson gets a Scout when he's young and then old fudds like me get one when age starts to get the better.

I noted that it was running a bit "fat" so Cam and I downloaded a revised tune for the Stage 1 mufflers and it runs perfect now. Very fast. I added highway pegs and ordered a Memphis Shades batwing fairing with a quick disconnect kit. I also received new Progressive 413 shocks so that I can mount my leather saddlebags.

Now that my knee is FINALLY getting better, after 10 months, Cam has offered to let me take a test ride on the Touring with the new Nels dyno tune. I'll of course give it a try but realize that for the rest of my riding years, I'll be on a smaller bike like the Scout or my BMW R1200C.

Having had two Rockets though, I remain convinced that it is the most unique bike in the world and they'll always be my favorite. It's funny but when I first read about the 2004 Rocket 3 coming out in one of the bike mags, I just knew one would be in my future. Legacy.
