It is a late 06 and still under warranty, but I don't want to lose it for a week at Triumph if it is something simple
Any advice welcome

Triumph has had some problems with the Rocket guage set. To the point that they came out with a trouble shooting guide just for the guages. I've replaced at least 3 sets over the past 3+ years, the last where the customer was out of warranty, but Triumph replaced the set at no charge as "good will"

The problems can be in a few areas mentioned prior to my post, but some are unfixable.
