2005 seat on a 2017?

2017 Rocket Roadster
Can anyone let me know if a solo seat from a 2005 will fit on a 2017 roadster? I found one for sale that I'd like to cut up and modify, but want to make sure it would fit on my roadster before I pay for shipping. If there is any specific info I should request from the seller to help please let me know. Thank you.
 
Unfortunately the used seat I was going to purchase didn't work out, so now I'm back to looking for a used solo seat I can cut up.
