Weird Touring miss problem

Power commander mine **** the bed on me last summer it started with a miss First thing I thought maybe bad gas no checked fuel filter fuel pump fuel pressures regulator fuel lines injectors all good went to coils coil wires spark plugs all good . Do you have a tune in the ecu that the bike will run on ? If so disconnect the power commander if not maybe someone else will have an idea but I would check to see if the power commander is the problem.

Low tension leads was the first thing I told him to check, because I remember seeing threads on it

I understand the front coil is difficult to get at and I'm sure difficult to really get at the primary (low tension lead) wires. What may have been a check may not have been a good cleaning, tightening and inspection. Damp or moisture issues going to a hot dry issue says a connection issue to me. If I were doing it, I would be pulling those wires, cleaning all the terminal with some 600 grit wet/dry, tightening them beyond question with a little dielectric grease on them. With that done, I would start looking elsewhere if I still had the issue.

I think @Jag might be on the mark, after cooling off for an hour it runs great for 20-30 minutes, then starts acting up again, a couple times the tach read zero for 20-30 seconds and I was definitely only running on two cylinders. I'm definitely going to recheck connections myself before I order a coil, $145 for one new one or $78 for a set of 3, used, tough call. I'll check crank sensor too, I mentioned that to my mechanic, but he never mentioned doing it, I'll ask.

A couple of guys on here have converted to coil over plug. That’s what I will do when my coils start going bad?

I’d buy the used ones, it’s not a common problem!
