What tire did you go with?
I have read tires like the Bridgestone mentioned have curved edges, stiffer sidewalls and feel better then others on the curves.

Hello, jjerdonjr, regarding the darkside, I live in Florida where the roads are fairly flat and straight. I went darkside and found it ok, and was happy with 23k to 25k for tire milage...My tread wear was in the center using a comfortable tire pressure of 27psi. I went thru 2 car tires and switched back to MC.The main reason is slow speed over cracks/crevasses, grass clumps, tend to want to throw you off the bike. Not good when 2 up.
If I were riding the Dragon and Mountain areas, I would definitely go with MC tire.... But you will always wonder if you never try it...Good Luck!!

Rogersville, it's between Johnson City & Knoxville.

I tried the dark side for a bit. It sucked. Enjoy riding very much. Do it everyday about 100 miles plus back and forth to work. Darkside was OK at first but soon figured out it was not for me. Best tire to date and we have had a few on this bike is the Cobra Chromes.

Several years ago I decided I wanted to try the dark side. I was at my winter place in Mesa, AZ and found on eBay someone selling a Gold Wing rear wheel with a half used Bridgestone mounted. NO ONE seemed to want it so I got it for $80 and the shipping was about $40. My thought was I’ll have a MC tire on one rim and a car tire on the other. It has worked out excellent. Very easy changing a rear wheel on a Gold Wing (with any kind of lift). I searched for the maximum size car tire that will fit in the wheel well and truthfully, have to keep it uninflated to squeeze it in or out. Depending on where I plan to ride, I’ll put one or the other wheels on. I’m just back yesterday from last week’s ride 1100 kms each way across the flat lands of Alberta and Saskatchewan. I don’t know how many 10’s of 1000’s of kms I’ve run on it so far. I run 32 psi in the car tire and love the cushy ride and durability of the car tire. I do NOT like it in the twisties and definitely feel it when I roll the bike over the sidewall edge whether around town or at speed. I don’t promote or defend the car tire but for me, in some instances, I like it :)

I tried it for awhile on my 2013 Roadster. Took the fun out of riding for me. Stayed to worried about the rear end wanting to kick one way or the other while going over cracks etc. in the road. And a bit "iffy" going around corners. I do have a CT on my drag bike though, as it's designed to only go straight. It also has 8 degrees added to the rake, and you almost have to bend the handle bars to get it to go around a corner!;)

I have a 2014 R3T that I run a 205/60/16 Yokohama Envigor. It is a good tire. I have more than 10k miles on it and it still has lots of tread. If you like going more than 100mph don't run the car tire. I have ride on in the tire and it works great on slow mountain roads.
