Finally getting to change out exhaust and intake. Wondering if you guys have removed all the intake plenum including the center section under the tank that the pressure sensor and lines mount to. If so, what did you do with the junction for the pressure lines and the sensor. The other question is what needs to be done with the MAP sensor from the filter box? I've already asked where everyone was mounting the temp sensor. Lookin forward to your replies. Had my pipes and filters for several weeks and can't take it anymore lol.

Zip to the bracket that held the plenum in place. I kept the filter box to store emergency stuff to the pressure sensor is still in place. While your at it, open all the connectors and refresh them with dielectric grease.

The MAP sensor won't be in a negative pressure with the plenum not connected. How's that affecting your ecu? Any problems?

That's too technical for me to answer. Perhaps Claviger or Scott can answer your question. I have no idea what the ECU does with the signal from the MAP sensor.

With a bit of fiddling you can leave the MAP sensor where it is and reconnect the hoses. When you remove the plenum there is a convenient mount.

Without the MAP connected you can expect all sorts of fun.

Yep Chris is right map sensor can stay where it is basically. The IAT ( temp sensor )that you take out of the ducting. Depends on what after markey filters you using some hang it in another little filter where ram air has a fitting spot for it. Also some have attached it to one of the new filters.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the replies. Just to make sure I'm right, the MAP sensor is the one in the filter box and the temp sensor is the one in the duct under the tank. Correct? The one attached to the duct under the tank with the hoses, came up as a air pressure sensor. At least that's what the part numbers came up as. I need to get the manual downloaded. And for filters, I got the K&N. Putting Paul's crossover and dual mufflers on it.

The one in the filter box under the seat is ambient pressure (think altitude) it doesnt get moved. But you can
The one that sticks in the air duct has just awire connector atached to it is the IAT it has a little bulb on the end that needs to be protected. The one with the vacuum line and a electrical connector is the map sensor its read vacuum pressure changs and controls the signal going to the lambda tables on the map. Referred to as the L-table fueling

Thanks. That clarifies things a lot. All I could do was look up part numbers. I'll leave the one on the air box alone and extend the temp sensor and move it where it had been suggested. I'm just confused to how the ambient pressure sensor could work properly on the downstream side of the filter as it would be in a negative pressure area. I'm not an engineer by any means, just worked with airflow and pressures throughout my career so has me curious. I'm gladly going with your info, but if you could explain the ambient sensor question my brain would stop going in circles lol.

Have another question for you. Do you recommend using the filter on the crankcase breather or routing a hose up to one of the filters. I think rocket scientist did that. Sorry to ask so many questions, just old school and unfamiliar with a lot of the ECU stuff. Not that the breather has anything to do with that
