Hi everyone I’ve replaced my fork seals on my 11 roadster. I haven’t disassembled the spring though. I know the manuel has you take the spring apart to accurately measure the amount of new fork oil. One fork wasn’t leaking so I let It drain overnight to try to get a accurate oil measurement that way, and then fill both forks with that amount. I pumped the spring cartridge to get as much oil out as possible. Has anyone done it this way? I guess it’s a bit of a shortcut to not disassemble the spring but am I setting myself up for failure?

Thanks in advance

I've usually found that the quick way takes longer.

Yes there is definitely some truth to that. Just thinking if I’ve completely drained them overnight then should be good to refill with 667cc of oil. Maybe 666 to account for a bit of residual

I took everything apart. CLEANED everything. A lot of nasty stuff got cleaned and removed when i upgraded to progressive springs. Made all the proper adjustments with the tools that Truimph recommends for the job. Even the silly tube thing that looks like a syringe was used. Three tools and adjustments made no issues since then. Followed the manual 100% percent. Just my two cents worth.
