Culprit identified, cold pressure on the rear was down to 32, I guess I'd been checking it warm/hot

In this case I know he was trying, but I fully understand your point, had a similar experience I Germany playing with a very built mark 2 golf.
Tuned, catless turbo BMW motors blow a little black puff when pushing high boost and you floor it. My mini does it too, that, and you know he broke the back tires loose lol.

All cleaned up now. Great trip, longest 2 days on Mufasa for me. Trip averaged 37.5 MPG, the vast majority done between 80-90 mph, including quite a bit of play and mountain climbing. It's real, built motors get better MPG on the open road, crazy.
