My issue is this: I can't seem to find N to save my life! I go from 1 to 2 to 1 to 2 several times every time I try to park.

Am I the only one that keeps my bike in gear when it's parked? I rarely shift out of first at lights, either - not unless I've been there for ever and need to pick my nose or something.

Adjusted free play and it's 100% better. Guess I need to be more aware of PM that in the past.

Thanks for all the input. I'll probably have the fluids changed soon also. Can't hurt!

I leave my bike in gear when parked. At lights, especially if the light is long and a car is already stopped behind me, I will go into neutral to give my hand/arm a rest.

Clutch lever adjustment is EXTREMELY critical on R3's - "About right" does NOT cut it. It has to be spot on as the manual says or you will hit issues. Too much play and the plates will drag a bit and you won't find "N". To tight and you will wear the lifter mechanism.

On my R3 - 1/8th of a turn on teh adjuster makes a world of difference

Agreed, I had mine perfect and my buddy the MC mechanic stopped over and insisted on giving it a little more play. Sure enough, couldn't find neutral and didn't stay in first if shifted from neutral. SMH......

Always do N at lights. Finding N from 1st or 2nd after stop is always tricky. I usually snick into N while coming to stop but still moving. Much easier to find N.

I've stated catching neutral when coming to a stop at red lights. They seem to take forever to change around here, and it gives me a chance to stretch my old bones while waiting for the light to go green. But I do keep an eye on approaching traffic from the rear, "just in case".;)
