Seven motorcyclists are dead after colliding with a pickup truck in New Hampshire

I’m with you. I’m much more comfortable riding alone.
Here in Spain - I never ride with anybody. Basically because I don't know many folk local to me who can escape mid-week. But also because I enjoy the "isolation". Also I am really very much an A-->B rider these days. I need an objective. Can be a very contrived objective, but simply meandering about is beyond my mindset.

Noticed however on my outing with the UK chaps that I was fixating a fair amount on where everybody else was. And was thus, well, uncomfortable. Was not concentrating as much on the road for certain. And could see my exit lines being blocked unintentionally.

Shyt happens - and that's a sad fact. 3 weeks ago my mates partner was rear end shunted. Thankfully OK - She rides in all weathers - 1000km a week - 18 years with not even a dropped bike. But even on an R3 - we are very much at the low end of impact survival comparisons. Makes one reflect a little.

Now allow me a question.

Is that size of trailer usually towed by a pick-up?

Depends on how the truck is set up. My Ford F-150 pulls a 28' enclosed trailer with a car and 3 motorcycles inside... without a problem. Of course, that trailer looks quite a bit longer...

No word on how exactly this happened, but sounds like the pickup truck crossed the center line. It's a tragic loss for the riders and their families.

It seems like the number of times people cross over into my lane is happening more and more. Very often it is a big tricked out pickup- like yesterday! If you don't have the skill to keep a large vehicle between two lines get something smaller like a VW bug until you learn! Then there's texting.....
The 2016 Dodge 2500 pick-up truck was driven by Volodoymyr Zhukovskyy age 23 and an employee of Westfield transport of Springfield Massachusetts, company owned by Dartanyan Gasanov.

This is a very sad incident, I see it made the news paper here in Brisbane today, a tragedy beyond belief. Our condolences to all the families.

23 years old - driving a pickup with a huge trailer, in the UK they have to pass a trailer towing course and test - is it the same over there?
