Hi all,

Looking at an '06 R3, a slight change from the T120 I had my eyes on for the past couple years. Had an 01 Thunderbird that met an untimely end, loved the triple grunt and torque. From the moment the Rocket came out had my eye on one and fate has one in my sights. 2006 with 15k for 4500, vin looks clean and seller seems legit. Are there issues with that year to be nervous/aware of? I've poked around the past couple days and doesn't seem like it, but good to hear from owners out there on the pros/cons.

Welcome from Florida.Make sure it had the update kit installed. Get the vin and have dealer check.

Welcome aboard HH from Christchurch New Zealand. Hope you enjoy the forum..
You will enjoy the bike for sure...as far as problems go, just treat it as you would any other ride. If a problem comes up, ask away on here or search in the search box...someone will come to your aid for sure.

Welcome from Melbourne, Australia. I bought mine with over 50000km on it and besides the upgrades I’ve done, she’s a sweet ride.

Welcome to the R3 family! As for upgrades, like most bikes there's plenty of aftermarket choices; however, depending on what you are looking for, the Triumph OEM parts may take a bit to hunt down.

How's the aftermarket for parts?
Hmmmm - Frankly if you expect to pop into your local Parts'R'us - it's dire. BUT fret not - we have one or two masters of google-foo who also seem to hoard. C'mon out @Ishrub . You will also find useful parts on here made in small number by some members. And there are one or two specialists about.

Welcome to individuality. And to this nut-house. o_O

Thanks guys, been doing a crash course as an R3 wasn't on my radar until a couple of days ago. Love, love love the triple and realize I'm not going to find a booth at Laconia next year dedicated to Rocket parts and accessories. Not worried about OEM so much, cost/quality is my breakdown and looks like there are options, and a fair amount of classified sales here to work with.

Now I just have to fully understand what fits which model. Pre-2008 is Classic, then it broke into Roadster and Touring. The R3R seems more compatible, but seat, pipes and other farkles will take some time to figure out once I pick it up and ride it a bit.
