Ride
R1250gs
Hi All
So just put a deposit down on the tfc as it looks incredible! I take it that it won’t be hugely different to the way the old r3 goes and handles?
I have not ridden one but would be interested to know what it’s like?

Congratulations! I have a deposit on a TFC also, but I think they are asking too much $ for what it is.

Nobody has ridden one yet. Comparisons? Its gonna go hard, but beyond that, lots of speculation. Like I said, nobody's ridden one yet. Delivery expected here in the Colonies between August and November.

Thanks, it’s due here in December, I currently ride a r1250gs and an rd350lc other bikes, cbr, multistrada, aprilia tuono, blackbird, z1000sx, r1200rt, explorer, so a bit of a mix bag

Is this bike all about plodding and looks ? Do you think it will handle?
I know no one knows but what was the old r3 like to ride just so I have a benchmark and yes I should probably test ride one ?

Hello Gman and welcome from Virginia. I would expect it to be noticeably different in the ride myself. Should be better based on the right up of parts it has.

Talking about the old Rockets, they handle far better than a bike this size should, and no, they are not just a plodder, you need a Harley for that kind of thing :roll::roll:

I would expect that the new ones would be far better handling wise than the earlier ones.

Enjoy the bike and congrats! No first hand reviews yet, but, I'm sure it'll be great just different.

Also, welcome to the forum.

Exactly. What a trip.Leave it at that.

This a whole new bike from the frame up. It will go quick but still will be a large bike that will not handle like the Tuono but the torque will be fantastic. I’ll go out on a limb and say it will be a better handling bike than the old Rockets. It is pricey but given the parts on on it I’d say it is worth it, IMO. There has been a lively discussion on here about the cost and value of the bike but that is a totally subjective matter. You will have a unique bike and it’s very unlikely you’ll be out riding and see another.

Welcome! ...and we look forward to your initial ride reports...:rolleyes::D
