Might have to take a closer look at that. I removed and cleaned the filter and added a length of hose so the filter is now up under the tank(farther away from the oil splash and still have a leak somewhere. I gave it a few days to make sure any residual oil wasn't dripping out of any nooks and crannies (after a thorough cleaning). Still leaking. Now I guess I need to get back to that vent pipe and make sure it is or isn't coming from there before I start removing things trying to track down the source.
I don't have any dealers closer than 1-1.5 hrs away and I don't trust most of the service depts. Unless it's a major issue requiring expensive parts, I take care of it myself.

My 07 Classic has developed an oil leak back there too. Cleaned the RamAir provided little filter, no effect. What is the most likely source of this leak? It's worse if I give the bike a little beating. When I get home and park the bike, next day there are some drops.

She was beat hard today so she peed.

Haven't had a chance to tear into it yet. Mine s definately worse if I'm getting on it, so I've been riding it easy. Not to the point of leaving puddles yet, just a wet engine case.

Going to see the old man at the dealership today. Im not tearing into the back of the motor. This is going to cost.

Looks like it is related to the starter motor

Update... Waiting for a 2$ O-ring.

Greasy, greasy, easy, easy, pushy, pushy, bolts on, torqued to 20. Bike starts, no fires. It's raining so test drive will be tomorrow. If its not leaking, will torque to 25. Next, pull the trailer out, lube the axles, change the air in the tires and see how the MKX pulls. 8 days to go and counting.

Yeaaaah  now where's the pipe?
