Finally, work has slacked off and I'm getting a much needed but short road trip in. Staying in a favorite campsite on the New River near Galax, VA. Traveling solo- s'ok! Test ride- Changed the valve cover gasket (what a fiddley s$!t that thing is!) and put on my new @Paul Bryant crossover pipe- like'n it. A little more grunt and a tad more power.

Is that the New River ?

That right there looks as if you really wanted a Touring. ;)

I'm envious (I have a Touring already -- just need to go camping).

Yeah, The New river right at the NC/VA line on Hwy 221. I love that section of road from there until you're just north of Boone.

@warp9.9 what'ya think of the Battlecruise H50? I think you said that you're also running it on the front. I think it has a flatter profile compared to the Dunlop Elite and so I have to force it harder into turns- but once there it does feel really solidly planted.

Unless it gives me a whole lot tire life, I'll probably go back to the Dunlops. Are you noticing this with handling of the H50?

No, I love the Roadster. It sets up as a tourer when needed, then easily back again.

Yeah, Paul, get some minimalist camping gear, strap it on, and hit the road. It opens up a lot of experiences and meeting new people you won't get staying at motels.

I. Liking the H50'S so far I think I got the suspension dialed in so I can take a couple turns out of the front suspension when i hit the mountains and sever twisties. I need to get out in the mountains to test it. Maybe after I get my fly screen back. Anyway I've got to get more miles on them especially pushing it hard in the curves. To be able to form a opinion. They do ride well at higher speeds like where there is no numbers on the speedo :)

I should spend more time testing but its hot and I'm getting the trailer ready for RAA in case I have to bring a friend back east. Should have done it a while ago. But I don't usually trailer to rides.
