I got a 2014 rocket 3 600 miles the other day. I changed the coolant and flushed with distilled water once, and some coolant as well on the second flush.

I drained the coolant at the water pump hose, took the bleed screw out and filled with coolant until it poured out bleed screw. I then topped it off at he radiator fill cap (not the overflow tank).

I turned the bike on and let it run until the radiator fan came on, then shut it off. I did this process twice. I'm now realizing I never topped off the radiator overflow tank to between the min and max fill line, so it was completely empty. If you open the radiator fill cap, you can see coolant at the top.

So my question is... did I hurt the bike by letting it idle until the fan kicked on twice with no coolant in the overflow tank whatsoever ??

Thanks guys!

Did it catch on fire? Did it seize from too much heat? No... then you probably didn't hurt the engine, but it won't hurt to put some juice in the overflow if you already haven't. But I bet you have.

No fire yet... Haha I get what you're saying but I was doing some light reading to see engines quickly overheat and warp internal parts. Those were threads on vehicles with ZERO coolant though. I'm thinking I'm safe as well. Appreciate the reply!

Whats your thoughts of the bike so far ? . have you ridden one before you got yours ? I just got a new one myself knew it was a beast, but once you throw your leg over it and go down the road... Holy.. Sh(&.. lol ..

I had a 1300 Yamaha Stryker which wasn't exactly a slow bike. Had it nodded heavily but still only around 80ish HP but 150 lbs less. I found that bike I sat more "in" the bike. It had forwards controls so nice and stretched out legs.

I feel the rocket handles better, and gives a better riding position for cornering. The only thing I liked about the Stryker more was the search height was much lower like you're sitting on a couch Haha. The rockets power is pure awesomeness though. I actually bought a Gixxr 750 about 1 week ago. Owned it for a day and said eff the uncomfortable ride, I'll just get an 800 lb bike that can move like a sports bike, but feel like the living room couch :)
