And welcome from another western Washington guy.

I know exactly were Mineral Wells is. I was working at an Oklahoma State Univ laboratory back in 08-09 after Navy retirement and bought a VStrom DL1000 from an FAA guy in Oklahoma City. I rode it to my Air Force daughter's home in San Antonio in late June of 2009 and, man oh man, was it hot. I stopped in Mineral Wells for a break and thought it a lovely area, one in which I'd like to live. It was about 106 that day and I think I made it to Marble Falls before almost passing out with heat exhaustion. I saw a motel with a swimming pool and decided I WAS DONE. It was a memorable ride though.

Forgive my tardy response, how many miles have you racked up since you got her?

Hello Boog. I’ve traveled about 2K miles thus far. This weekend I traveled 900 miles round trip from my home West of Fort Worth to the Texas Hill Country where my friends and I rode the Three Twisted Sisters. The Rocket is one hell of a bike. It effortlessly ate through the twisty roads. If my friends riding Harleys let me take the lead I would have to stop so they could catch up.

Hello, I am excited to become a part of the Rocket 3 Owners community. My ride is a 2008 R3T. I took a 15 year hiatus from motorcycle riding and now I am getting back into the hobby. I have been stalking this page for a few weeks learning valuable information from the posts contained herein. I decided it was time to make it official and join your ranks. Thank you all for your willingness to share your knowledge and experiences with the world.
Welcome from Rowlett Texas!
