I recently took my first ride on my Rocket after surgery and also got into some sand on the road. Scary stuff. My Touring has self cancelling turn signals but my other two bikes do not and I frequently leave them on..Bad stuff. A lady recently almost pulled out of a parking lot in front of me when I left my right turn signal on.. She thought I was going to turn right into the parking lot.

I'll be in Crivitz visiting a friend this summer. I always enjoy visiting WI in spite of the 500 deer in every mile jumping out in front of me.

Edit: And I meant to say that's a great ideal turning off the turn signal while shifting into second.

I am a transplant from northern Minnesota, there are great roads up there but are mostly gravel...Wisconsins are mostly tar in our area with plenty of hills and curves.
 
I had to look up the location of Menomonie, wondering if it was near Eau Claire. Yup. I drove from western Washington to Crivitz a few years ago and drove right through your town. It is a very pretty area. I wanted to go back that way and spend a few days but my truck was so loaded down on the return trip with vintage Triumph motorcycles and parts that we drove down to 90 straight across.
 
I’m glad you had a nice first ride the roads should get better. I too hate the non cancelling turn signals and my wife says I have old man disease leaving them on. As far as the cruise control goes I can live without it on this bike. It seems I just can’t keep a steady speed for any length of time, gotta twist that right grip.;)

You ain’t kidding you doing 90 mph in no time. I’ve modded mine a bit and found I hit the rev limiter at that speed in first gear.:eek: At least that’s what I recall it was all a bit hairy and quick.

Well worth the money and little effort. Saved me many a times from the signal remaining on. I'd rather pay attention to traffic and the road, then do the signal, don't need more distractions while entering an intersection.

Wow. Seems to me you can always tell the novice who rides on special occasions like in the twisting turners and the guy who rides everyday. Just watch the turn signals. Left on one of those special riders. Turned off manual maybe a guy who rides everyday. Got the self cancelling turn signals on the 2010 Harley from what i hear but kind of hit the button long before then. Then again use to having to turn it off manual and figure out a long time ago that common sense says pay attention and live a long and healthy life. Separates the Novice from the riders. Still a good idea i guess. Let it ride. It is not a Chevy.
