Structural Plastics Inc


In the mid 1980’s Structural Plastics Inc, Oklahoma (USA) produced a prototype 3-wheeler called the Spi-Tri. The vehicle was created by using a Bond Bug shell and elongating it at the rear. The Bond Bug’s side canvas doors were also replaced with fiberglass doors. The vehicle was powered by an Elecxtro electric engine that gave the vehicle a top speed of around 50 mph and a range of 40 miles between charges. The Spi-Tri entered production but only a small number were ever made. The production version differed from the prototype as it included larger diameter wheels and had large impact bumpers at the front of the vehicle.

we have up for sale an unbelievably rare Micro car

a 1973 Webster Bond Bug 4 Wheeler
No 3 Of 22 Made - a Very Limited Run
For any one unsure of what a "webster bond bug" is.

The last know variation of the Bond Bug was produced by Mike and Gary Webster. between them they managed to acquire some original Bug moulds in 1990 and form the Webster Motor Company to produce the WMC four-wheeled Bond Bug.

They decided to produce four wheeled Bugs with 10-inch front wheels and 12-inch rear wheels but early demand from the public was for a three-wheeled bug in Kit form.

The WMC four-wheeler was built on a similar ladder chassis to the original car but this new chassis was designed to take as many parts as possible from the Robin and Rialto allowing both the 750cc or 850cc engine to be fitted as standard. Many parts of the car were built to closely resemble the original Bug. so much so that it was claimed at the time that you would need to be a Bond Bug expert to tell the difference between the two cars. WMC did offer a list of extras for the car. ranging from inertia reel seat belts. laminated windscreen and even GRP side screens which hinged like conventional car doors.

Further more this Car has only done 18. Yes 18 Miles since New! Virtually a brand new car thats 30+ Years Old!
