Where is Triumph?

Don't want Truimph to become popular myself. Kind of like it as is. Riding around here in southeastern Oklahoma On the Rocket X with a few upgrades is a ego trip. Harley guys have pretty much figured out It is no fun messy with it. Guys on the sport bikes love it. General population of none riders just stare at it in aw. Overall it is a unique looking bike with presents. When folks see the truimph emblems then it is conversation time. Indians and Harleys are a dime a dozen around here. Nobody cares. Lost count of the Harley riders who have given me complements on the bike. Could Truimph do a better job on advertiser ? Sure hopefully they do not.

If Triumph did show in Daytona Bike Week they would have no success. I have been a Harley hardcore and know the mentality. Thankfully Indian motorcycles broke through my coolaide induced fog. Only after I sobered up did I appreciate other bikes and came to own and love the Rocket.

Here’s the way they think. Oh Harley Harley Harley there is only one real motorcycle on the planet. Once you finally own your own Harley there can be no other bike to be considered. “But it’s not a Harley”.

Triumph knows this and won’t waste money on that week. They should however do something with improved advertising and marketing.
Well said Doc. Ive owned quite a few HDs , and to many, if you mention Triumph, Ducati, etc they just dont take them seriously. The real truth is most "riders" are posers. The bike is just an accessory, only to be used on "special" occasions.

What bumms me out specifically with Triumph, is so little is offered for accessories. And what they do offer isn't a well thought out product. Its like, heres a crappy windshield that might make you happy. And we only offer it in 5 inch and 70 inch.

Then I have a word of advice - Don't buy a Guzzi.

Compared to Guzzi's the Triumph spares offering is a cornucopia. We Guzzi folk make our own stuff.

Like @sonny I am rather glad I do not form part of the "bolt-on" accessories groupies. Mind you - 3D printing a new gearbox is pushing it even for me. @R-III-R Turbo ;)

On this...I rode over to Daytona yesterday. It was my first time. I only made it to main st...stayed an hour had enough!
I thought Indian did a fantastic job in terms of promoting and showcasing their stuff. Other than that I thought it was tacky as hell. Hundreds of stores selling mostly cheap crap...I thought I was back in Blackpool on a bank holiday. Food was good though!
I couldn’t stay for the night life and that might have been fun and if I’d researched more I might have found other venues but from what I did experience I’d have to say I’ve enjoyed far better events in Florida than this.

Another point , I’m not particularly biased one way or another regarding Harley’s...But...Yesterday put me off for life. Everyone more or less looked like they were on the same cloned bike. You seen one you seen em all By comparison the individualization of the various Indian models put Harley’s creativity to shame I think.
On a good note , over 300 mile round trip ...fast ( too fast but it was outstanding) non freeway ride through beautiful Florida country in 80 degrees...loved it! ( face like a beetroot today though...)

Triumph has been at Daytona bike week many a times, now Triumph does not have the budget like the big guys so they have to choose very carefully where they are spending the pennies:eek: and as you know Daytona bike week is 98% Harley and the Harley riders if nothing else are extremly loyal to the Harley brand.
Royal Enfield is one of the oldest bike manufacturers in the World very surprised you had not heard of them before. :D
As for seeing other rockets wel ltherocket is a pish poor selling bike , only a select few headbangers buy them now up beside me I see one or two Rockets daily which really makes me mad as I am the only Rocket in the Village.
At the worlds largest motorbike museum they have a vintage weekend every October and it is sponsered by Triumph, at the festival the Triumph bikes out number the Harleys 4-1

What originally drew me to Triumph was the fact that I didn't see them often and I wanted something unique that spoke to me... For two wheels it's Triumph... for classic cars it's Buick... :D
