Contemplating an R3 Purchase

Also keep in mind that abs brakes were an option in 2013 and standard starting in 2014 if that’s important to you.
Other than that their is almost no difference from 2008 to 2017 besides some bling, bling!

Regarding the bling, is there a tread somewhere that breaks down the builds per year? It seems every 2011 I come across has headlamp visors, bag rails and other accessories, probably just coincidence though.

All the stuff above are dealer added and no longer made.
No real breakdowns I know of. But here is what I know. SE models came with driving lights, adjustable highway pegs and abs brakes and a seat upgrade 2013 and up. From 2008 to 2012 all the above would have been added by the dealer and or the end user. Almost all OEM accessories are no longer made!

Hey all,

New to the site and looking for input. I am considering a purchase of a 2011 R3 Touring this weekend and could use your help on things I should look for, things I should ask, etc. The bike is a one owner and appears to have been very well taken care of.

I am currently on a 2006 Honda VTX 1800N and want to try something other than a V-Twin for a while, the most unique bike I can find and genuinely like the looks of is the R3.

Any feedback for a rider looking to go to an R3 for the first time?

Thank you,

Paul.
Welcome! The Rocket is the closest to Hemi power you will find on a production bike!

I love my Roadster. It truly saved me from being bored with riding. The Rocket is a pure, honest and powerful bike.

Good luck with your purchase!

As Jvheli said - Rocket 3 is a muscle bike .... I drive a 2010 Camaro SS and the Rocket is similar since : 1. It rumbles... 2. It is gentle when you need it to be but turns into a beast in an instant 3. It is very easy going / easy to ride and can be hustled round corners faster than you would expect - but benefits from suspension upgrades. Best investment in personal mental health that I have ever made

Well Gang, I did it. I put money down on this beautiful 2011. I am headed down on the 5th to go pick it up, I can hardly wait.
