Update on the issue I was having. I checked the tps primary and secondary, both needed adjustment, balanced the throttle bodies, checked the spades on the coils and squeezed the connectors, reset adaptations. Took the bike out and the problem was still there.:mad:

I had a look through the maps on the forum and found 1 that matched the setup of my bike and had good reviews, backed up my current map, then installed the new map to the bike. Took it out for a run and the issue had gone, such a relief.

Thanks to everyone for your help, special thanks to warp9.9 for all the info you sent me.

It is - in which case it will probably even throttle things a bit. It's very similar in design to the Zard Penta which is known to actually reduce power.
Oddly :whitstling: Dave Platt has not replied to any of my mails since I asked him for the Dyno numbers.
hi barbagris. would that be a reduction in power compaed to standard pipes and a cat, im just curious coz ive got a penta on my 05 it replaced my tors and cat delete when the tors fell apart.

As far as I can remember - yes.
The Penta was often referred to as the "Bean Can Collector".

I was very very close to getting a Penta too. I like the aesthetics. And what's more they do an € approved version for those of us for whom this is an issue.

It was NOT a huge drop though - iirc a couple of horsies.

I was lucky to get a set of THUGs - similar aestetic but very different inside.

cheers for the info, i think il stick with the small loss of horses rather than a large loss of £££££££s.
ive just fitted the ramair fillter but if the exhaust is a restriction it may not need a remap/ 02 delete il just check the plugs after a tank or two of fuel.

If you have the OEM Triumph Headers You will really not get much out if inlet mod's.

I will now utter some HERESY.

With a RamAir, stock headers and the Penta - frankly I would give consideration to a simple plug and play solution such as Triumph Rocket III Series - Yeah I know it costs cash, but it is Plug and Play.

just had a look on fleabay and im likeing the description,i take it i keep my 02 sensor so when im cruising il still get all of my 32 mpg..
oh yeah and only one more dumb question does it need the standard map to work properly a bit like a pcv.

Yup leave the O2 in. I would anticipate a bit less mileage - but then I would anticipate that anyway if you address a lean running engine ;)

Who says a PCV needs a standard map? - I sure as hell don't use one :coffee: - My base map is very modified.

i was thinking of the map the pcv comes with but i might be wrong (it has been known but i rarely admit it)
im going to try the zwuggl map off the tune ecu site its standard pipes no cat and triple k&n and keep an eye on things.
cheers for your input and ive not ruled out the gizzmo yet il see how it goes.
ps
ive just seen a post from yourself about 6 years ago saying you had seen a modified zard penta without the bean can on ebay, thats what i have.
i think it must be that there is a road legal and a not quite so legal version that dont have the can.
or zard just re designed it
