Annoyed with this Corbin dual tour

Corbin is worth the money used, but to pay full price on a new one???? Unless you have money to burn!! The only one I’d buy new is a daylong. Customer service is good and they use your seat pan, so you know it will fit!

Jag,
great avatar, My good sense and wallet agree with you, my arse on the other hand thanks me used or new. The used market is where I turn to in most cases. I have benefited in both buying & selling of used items. Good point on the Russell/daylong & custom builds using original seat pan. For me, if timing, the right seat, and fair price is available, then yes - used is a great option. On some occasions where a used seat has not become available for a period of time - I have turned to a new purchase for usually a few hard earned hundred more. No doubt new aftermarket seats are overpriced, but the equation of comfort -vs- cost has always resulted in making the difference of enjoying a comfortable ride -vs- short & sore rides. I envy the guy's who seem to adjust to stock seats with no issues, just not the case for me. One thing I have learned - when selling a bike, get the value of a custom seat in the asking price or sell it with stock seat and list/sell the after market seat to recoup 50% of retail.

I agree with you, but I got lucky and found a used one for 300$.

@HansO came up with a pretty good mounting system for the corbins. The dual tour in particular is a $hitty mounting system. I had to tweek mine to get it to fit properly and even then getting the seat off is a pain in the A$$

Jag,
Once in awhile I've seen them on the classifieds here, both dual & solo. I was tempted on a brown one Mexican had listed but continued to wait for a black and finally bit the bullet. When a good deal is offered it goes quick, nice you got a deal on one. Back to your avatar - it brought back memories of early 1960's when I was knee high, Damm, where has the time gone.

My Corbin fast gun lock pin was completely off.
I returned it twice and still no fit.
Corbin refused to deal with me after that.
I had to fab it myself using a lock pin from another seat.
Beautiful seat but I really hate those guys.

My lock pin broke off from a fall.
Corbin fixed it properly and paid for the shipping both ways!

My Corbin was like $475,
I be curious how much is that Russell with your pan?

RDL was my first choice, I priced the base seat at $860. Then it rapidly goes up as you add options. Every thing I wanted plus shipping was close to 2k. My DT Corbin was $649 (base, no backrest /heat/shipping).

Mine is just a solo with back rest.
Because I am a hotty, the rest are redundant.
