2014 Rocket 3 Roadster
Just bought a 2014 Roadster (27th bike plus a couple i've forgotten). New to forums & not used the net much so just looking at present. May have an issue with transmission as there's a jerk in take up from deceleration to acceleration. Triumph dealer assures me its normal? Love the bike as my last bike was a 2017 wide glide (wife wanted a slower ride with a backrest although rarely on the bike) & even with 3" extension to forward controls felt way too small for me & despite 211 cams, V&H power pipe etc was too slow. Had to sell my GTR1400 to save my license but glad I ditched the Harley as the Rocket is a gem. Fairly deaf due to machinery noise, playing in bands & recent chemotherapy so power without thunderous noise is great. Looking forward to reading more posts:)

Welcome from BC Canada. I know you will love the bike. There is a lot of great info on the site about the transmission. I’m also sure one of the resident experts will chime in at some point as well.
Cheers

Roley, wellcome from Maine, Captain:) There should not be a noticeable jerk from decel to accell. Mine doesn't anyways. My guess would be that you have some excess play in the drive train, somebody that's more experienced will comment more exactly. There is a rubber cushin in the rear wheel, called the cush drive I believe, that may have excessive wear. How many K's on the bike?

Hoopla

Welcome, it might just be normal. I know my 2013 has a lot more slop than my 2 05's I think (hope) it has something to do with the upgraded dogs on the gears.

Congrats on your new R3. The lash on these bikes is great. It might just be normal. You have to learn to ease the power on and off. Tricky at first.

Hey welcome...after owning many bikes this might just be normal...give it a few more miles and see if your just getting used to the responsiveness of this beastie?
