love raw oysters .. the only way to appreciate them your pics show round shells i would say we have the same shaped oysters in france called bellon exorbitantly expensive...unfortunately but so ever good.Every year there is an Oyster festival in Bluff which is right down the bottom of New Zealand. Bluff oysters are something else!

Years ago...like in the late 70's/ early 80's, i was a commercial fisherman fishing out of Nelson, NZ. We used to dredge for Scallops and oysters part of the year. Breakfast consisted of scallops and oysters done quickly in butter in a frypan and slammed between two slices of freash bread and a good coffee....
Often we would batter the oysters and have them that way...between bread..
My Fishing career started as a lad on my Uncles boat "Weemay" as a crew member....great memories..
