Adaptive LED Headlights - JW Speaker

From my experience, the point of aim is definitely changed from low to high beam and the light projected forward is greater in high beam.
Steve - any way to measure? Because that would be a MAJOR plus!. All I can think of is they fitted a second series of LEDS if the POI moves. Would take me about 10s to see the differences. If you look through the lenses (really close up) you can see the LEDs. Dammit! - Why must you live on the other side of the world?

The ADAPTIVE clusters consume the same power dip and Main (according to JWS). So unless they PWM restrict them on DIP I can't see empirical evidence for more light from the adaptive bits. The Main on the AD1 has a significant mid range spread - add the adaptive into that and yes it will seem like more light. Do you still have the AD1?

AD1 vs AD2 won't matter in a few months. Because there won't be any AD1 left!.

tbh this would all be far more speculative save for the fact that JWS are very forthcoming with their equipment spec's.

I currently run the Adaptive 2, having replaced my original Adaptives.
I upgraded because I prefer to run high beams adjusted to low beam specs.

Great idea running highs to low specs, much more light! Really when running at night, most time is spent on low beams because of oncoming traffic, so why not use the highs set to low specs all the time, better visisbility is the day time too. At night I tend to throttle back some anyways, allowing for the unknown, great Idea!!

Hi guys,

After thinking about it, i have decided for the "brained AD1". AD2 is newer but a lot expensive too.
Thank you all for the help

I really think JWS should just send me a set of AD2 to compare as well - seems only fair.
After all how many of their testers ride both Left and Right Hand traffic? - Hmm!.
Chris they get their test riders from the harley bars. That way the can test a on and off road conditions along with push you drunk f. u. c. k. e. r. Mode :D

Hello!
Tell me what else you can choose the light to replace the original? The model that you discussed with us is very expensive!

It depends which model R3 you have. Touring with one 7" or two 5.25" lights.

You can now also get cheap Chinese versions of 7" or 5.25" Adaptives, but there are many Adapative "look a likes" that only have amber indicator LEDs and not the 'adaptive' riding angle dependent white LEDs.
