All of of a sudden no start/ stand safety switch

I can not track down where the stand safety switch wires connect into the wiring harness, I can see the wires lead up behind the engine and have taken the fill-in panel off the left side but can’t identity the wire. I guess cutting and joining seems the way to be sure it’s the stand safety switch.

I have pulled the switch off and pushed and wriggled the shaft while pushing the starter button but nothing. It look like the shaft is fully out when the stand is up and in when the stand is out. Does anyone know if there is an open circuit or closed circuit when the stand in in the up position.

if u r getting a neutral light it should start regardless whether the stand is up or down.
if i am correct about u saying that the neutral light was on then the problem is not the stand switch.

Yes, the neutral light is on and the starter button is dead but when I pushed the points together in the starter relay it started as normal. I might try a new starter relay and at least rule that out.

if we assume that every thing worked this is what happens
with ign on
the ecu receives the clutch, neutral signal then the ecu sends a signal to the relay and then the starter button grounds the relay to start. this is the basics i think
when u press the relay contacts u bypass all safety's.

Here is some more, tried a new starter relay but still nothing when I push the starter button, but while trying I noticed when was pulling the clutch in and out it started, so I put a screw driver across the clutch switch terminals with clutch out and the bike started every time and continued to run when I took screw driver away. With the motor running, clutch in I put in gear and put the stand down, the motor cut out.

I will call the Triumph Dealer tomorrow, hopefully they will have clutch switch.

Sounds to me like you need a new clutch switch.. If it ran when you bypassed it theres your problem, as for it cutting out with clutch in a sidestand down its meant to... stops you riding away with the stand down.

I was going to mention the clutch switch awhile back but had to run off to work. Is your gas gauge working? I had a similar problem and cleaned the Clutch switch and problem disappeared. Gas gauge started to work again on a regular basis. Believe the switch is cheap like about $15.00.
