Just put the Riken Raptor, 225/55/16, on today...can't wait to take it for a rip! I also balanced it with Dyna Beads. Got rid of that ugly stick on weight. They are suppose to dynamically balance the tire for the life and ride like glass. I have heard nothing but good things about them. We will see.... Also, that old tire was a bear to get off... had to cut it off, as some of you guys had to as well. In any case, I will try to get a pic posted for you all to see.. just waiting for my cookie! I tried attaching the pic.. if you dont see it, let me know... still new to this forum stuff

Good looking fatty. My Cooper Zeon 2XS is very similar with a center line tread like the Raptor. I chose the Cooper for it's stated "slightly rounded" ground patch. I can't say it's made any difference. The 280 tread wear rating, of the Cooper, isn't providing the mileage I'd expected but that may be due to the 40psi I'd run for most of it's 10k miles. I've since lowered to 34psi and have stopped the greater center wear.

I'm doing the dirty deed on the next tire replacement, may I ask why you decided on that size rather than a 240? How's the clearances?

Good luck finding a 240. A 245 will barely fit; somewhere less that 1/4" clearance and needing max PSI to keep it that way. A 225-55 is a smidgen less than 1/2" narrower and <1/2" less diameter than a stock Metz; according to the size converter I used. Granted...you didn't ask me the question.

I have waited for a month to get a replacement for my Goodyear Eagle. No can find at this time. I going with the Toyo Proxes T1R. it has a very similar tread pattern of the Goodyear which I really liked (21,000 miles).
I should have it mounted Monday and back on the bike. 225/55/ZR16 with Dyna Beads as well.

That looks fantastic ... I gotta take the plunge next time. I had to put the Metz back on this last time cause it was last minute and we were leaving on a trip. The total for the tire and labor was $280, what did you spend and did they give you any guff at the shop for putting on a car tire?
You gotta do something about that tag mount now, show off that tire.
