Had a play with the EZ bracket as I wanted to use the OEM sadde bags and mount so did abit of cutting & welding.
They sit at the same height and only about 10mm further out from stock.

So they are not stainless then as I was wondering how you would get on welding the stainless to the mild steel Triumph bag support frame

Not ideal but it's not a problem welding stainless to mild, best to use stainless wire if it has to be done

I've used EZ brackets on OEM and non OEM leather and hard bags on 2 Rockets and a T-Bird without any of the stock mounting stuff and it worked fine.

Yeah, but you cannot mount the cool cage chrome embellishment then and have to make extra holes in the oem bags too.

Tig weld it - it is pretty easy and you end up with a tidy finish.
Can mig also but not as tidy as the weld will be bigger

I am also in the process to install hard bags on EZ brackets outside of the quick release mount from @Mittzy these bags were from an indian model they look good on the rockets and were dirt cheap since the bags were scratched when the indian was totalled , the bags were basically intacts

Thread to read for you two @phar2slo and @Mikethepie (if you get EZ brackets too Mike)

Chris if you get your minions at your workshop to do it, get them to weld back on the 1.5cm x 1.5cm steel tabs that the EZ Bracket locks engage on or near.
The tabs are/were fitted under the two bolts threaded in place from memory. It works as is and has done 1000's of K's that way without movement but does locate them out quitw far when the EZ brackets are fitted to the stock frames without alteration.
