Best cheap combo upgrade

That must be a heavily modified V-Rod! I followed a modded V-Rod onto a dyno a few years ago and he made an absolute ton of noise and 108 rwhp. He was expecting 120hp. I made 150 with a header and K&N's.

I too have a Carpenter header and Ramair figuring it should make about what your's does but our weight vs the V-rod and the fact that a gear change is quick and easy on the Rod makes it real competitive at the track.
My V-rod was once a turbo bike. It made, 150 rwhp but didn't last. The rebuild makes the same NA and ran the same 10:50 1/4 mile times.
Mods: 1250 big bore, 1/4" stroke (1350cc), forged 11 to 1 pistons, ported Screaming Eagle heads, Destroyer throttle body and injectors, Mega Cycle 480/450 cams and about 150 # lighter than stock.

Oh boy. Pro street Harley V-rod.:roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll: Only in California can a screaming chicken out run a beefed up Rocket. Have a few friends that ride the V rod. They to have tricked them out. Me all stick with this IMG_0570.JPG IMG_0420 (1).JPG They have my licence plate memorized. Headlights cost me $640.00 dollars. IMG_0163.JPG Not cheap but work rather well. You California,s make my day.:roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll: Do not intend to come across as a complete #sshole but :cool::cool::cool::cool: Have a Barnett clutch installed and works rather well. Shifts rather nicely. o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O:roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll: Paper:D:D:D:D:D not even rides at 161 back wheel and not done yet. Soon to update cams and get a good tune this spring. 50,000 thousand miles and riding strong.

Yea, Kalifornia sucks. If I were younger and in better health I would move back to Alabama as I did in my youth. Fixed SS income would go a lot further outside KA.
As far as the V-rod I bought it built from a guy who raced it on Kawai, HI. Built it there, his knees went bad and the bike went up for auction.
Cool, bad to the bone R3X!

My Dyno jet man has been building, tuning and putting bikes on the dyno for over 20 years. When he had my 14 roadster on his dyno a couple of years back, he showed me a graph of the most powerful Harley he had seen. It had a lot of cash spent on the motor..pistons,valves, cam and the like. It was a 120Hp race motor and the best he could extract from it was 125 RWHP.
He overlaid my dyno graph over the top of the Harleys and the rocket was a good 1/2 inch higher all the way thru showing 134 RWHP.
All i had done was k&N pods, PCV and Tors.
I know these V-Rods sound good and go ok but i dont want one.

I don't like the noise they make. I baffled down our's as I can't stand to ride next to it otherwise.
The guy I bought this one from had documented $30g's invested to get it to run. Was tormenting kalibusas? on the 1/4 mile.
Real Harley guys won't ride next to one... the Wife loves the bike but is afraid of it won't turn it on.

Not meaning to come across as a Harley hater. Have a 2010 Harley fatboy with a blown motor at present. S%S 124 built to the extremes and lost the motor last week. Only had 6,000 miles on the built but knew it was over the top. Very fast bike but knew she was going to be short lived. Stupid me now going back in with a S%S 106 built kit. Transmission is a baker and primary is built. Figure this time will take it easy IMG_0309 (1).JPG Love the bike and bought her new in 2010 have rebuilt the bike several times like a big dummy IMG_0059.JPG Not rode much after 2015. She still has a soft spot. Bike is louder than #hit No baffles in after market exhaust. :x3::x3::x3::x3::x3:Present mileage is over 100,000 No resale valve here. Great bike through rather expensive on upkeep:inlove:inlove:inlove:inlove:inlove:inlove:inlove:inlove:inlove

Wow, people must call you a clean freak as they do me!
Can't do any better than S&S if you want an Evo motor to run. Can't over rev them for long though.
There are two S&S 124's in town here. One in a FXR frame the other a Springer neither will try and run with either my bikes. As a matter of fact it's hard to get anyone to ride with. Thank God for the Wife on the V-rod. I don't go looking for a race either but can be provoked. :)
