This is true - BUT exact position makes a MONSTER difference.sensor did NOT need extension...reached over to locate right by filters.
With the RamAir it is in the dynamic air stream to the TB inlets.
I have been playing with a temp sensor placed (cable ties) onto the exterior surface of the Ramair and where you put it makes a BIG difference to the temperature measured. as much as 20ºC difference. I have a cut back OZ-claw: I also have a small air **** twixt under-tank area and filter, so have more cool air flow than many.
Now if this was the AIT sensor - imagine the effect it will have on the ECU's understanding of the environment. Especially under a claw.
The area around the overflow tank gets VERY hot. Apart from any tank content - there is substantial air-wash upward from the rad.
Just saying.
