Hello guys.

Got TORs this winter. So, now I have Ramair+TORs. Remapped my bike with HansO's map.

Now, I am not quite sure where the problem lies. I've had no luck getting that green TPS adaptation light to come on.

Bike runs fine when throttle is open up to 60-70%. Yet once I get it fully open engine starts choking. Feels like it's being flooded with fuel. Top speed has decreased because of this too. Once I hit 160 km/h I can't go any faster, as twisting the handle more leads to this flood condition.

Has anyone experienced this? HansO's tune has been almost legendary for many years... I wonder if I should go ahead and try resetting adaptation again, or try to switch to another map.

Dyno Day today for a baseline. In my case, that means, where the bike is today, before I do something else to it.

So today is the "de-restricted" Touring, with the map from @HansO

Runs were made at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full throttle. I only show the two runs for 100%, and I would have to say, this is exactly what I was expecting and wanted when I received the tunes from @HansO THANK YOU

Bike has Viking 3-into-1, and RAMAIR, and @HansO de-restricting map. That's it.

Nice glad she’s running right.

I got side-tracked on trying a new map but I'm going get around to it finally. I did find the excellent and very helpful post "TuneECU for Dummies" which will be a huge help. I have a 2015 R3T with stock exhaust and intake. I'm looking for specific answers rather than general lectures on maps so I'm asking specific questions so hopefully any responses won't get side-tracked.

TuneECU for Rocket.JPG

Questions:

1) Is the tune mentioned in the original post the same as 20367.map.hex shown on the TuneECU site for the R3T (top map in the attachment)? (I don't see the attached tune that the original poster mentions.)

2) What specifically does this tune do, assuming the tune that started this thread is the same as the 20367 map? Does it de-restrict? Does it move the torque curve up to higher revs, etc.? If the 20367 map is not the same as the tune mentioned in the original post, what specifically does that tune do? What is its number and where can I get it? (I don't see the map that the original post mentions is attached to that post.)

3) Being new to this, am I correct in assuming the OEM map listed on the TuneECU map ithe original map that came installed on the bike?

4) What, if anything do I do with the checksum file shown on the TuneECU site?

Thanks in advance! You folks are great!

1: No
2: It opens the 2nd throttle blades up fully and allows the motor to make the power it normally has on the R3 classic, Roadster, and standard. The torque will be over a broader RPM range since the motor isn’t being choked to death. It raises the redline back to where it should be, and removed the retarded ignition timing.
3: Yep, it’ll run just like stock.
4: It’s used for verification of tampering if someone were to mess with the file. You don’t need to do anything with it.

Your bike will generally run better and healthier with the derestricted tune than the stock

My 2 cents:
Go here: Triumph_Custom_Tune_list. 3 & 4 Cyl. models
These are the custom maps.
Find the Rocket III Touring / All VIN's / Keihin ECU heading.
The file: R3T_stock_or_slip-on.hex by Power-Tripp is the one mentioned in the first post. (others can correct me if I am wrong, please).

I have that on my 2010 R3T at this time. I have the stock silencers and a K&N Filter under the seat. I like it. I smoked a Harley just last week.

can anybody advise me on a unrestricted tune for a R3T with ramair and standard mufflers
I'm new to this and i am impressed how everyone across the world is so helpful i suppose it comes from from Triumphs of old where all had to help with breakdowns
