Roadster and Classic seats...interchangeable?

Here's a seat (and pillion) from a 2011 Roadster on a 2007 Classic. Not Corbin, but they are interchangeable.

The issue - from comments read - is that not all Corbin seats fit as well as they should.

I had a Corbin seat on my Buell - Came direct from Corbin - I had to modify stuff to get it to fit.

Once fitted was fine - but I would never buy one again.

Chris is so right. Plus there are two mounting styles. Later model like the OEM key lock. Early styles bolt on so if you eliminated oem ducting to use the air box for tool storage. You will need to hide a tool to get at your tools and don't be in a hurry )

I've got a Corbin dual tour seat that has the bolt hole's to secure it instead of the post design on modern roadsters. Finding a way to make it fit did not seem easy. I expect the opposite would be true as well.

I've been thinking of modifying it with a compatible post but if you have a good home for it I'd consider selling... pm me.

I already bought one from Ebay, but I'm not sure how to secure it to the bike. Let me know if you have any insight on what to do.

Sorry to say, but my Corbin experience has been horrible.
Beautiful seat, comfortable and well made, but the mount pin was 1/2 inch off, forward or back, I forget...
Two returns to Corbin for rework and still off.
I had to make a mount myself using the pin from a spare seat.

If it's a solo seat, keep your fingers crossed and see if the pin aligns with the locking mechanism.
If not, you'll have to fabricate. Not an easy thing to describe.
The Corbin lock pin broke off the seat pan on on my last attempt to get it on.
I had to epoxy the hole flat, tap screw holes into the pan for the spare stock pin and shim it up with washers.
It's a half-**s repair but works till I can make a permanent mount bracket.

I tell you what I stopped in kentucky and helped a fellow captain with his 07 standard with 2011 R3T floor boards mounted. Got to take it for a ride. He figured a way to mount a 2011 R3Touring long haul dual seat with riders back rest classic passenger set up. Guess what I'm looking for :D

If you would care to share that method - then a Mustang seat for a Touring might go on.
