Not mine, but a picture of the Sidewinder from the Carpenter website.

I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :whitstling:
Very nice looking welds! The 180 degree bends look somewhat like expansion chambers? Or is that just a warp from the camera lens?

Scott,
I have not seen these yet in person, but just from what I see I reckon that there is MUCH difference between the two systems!
1) #3 travels higher and clears #2 better
2) #2 travels level & further forward
3) #1 travel under #2 and enters the collector in line with #3 & #2 for better flow . . .
The routing of three pipes on an in line, colinear three cylinder Rocket motor can only happen a few ways, so . . . :D
Oh yes:
4) NO springs! :p

Have to love this site anytime someone does something different the naysayers jump in putting it down but also naysayers from the other end saying how better it is than something else it is being compared to which leads to the back and forth about he did that and I did that  gets a bit old after a while and we are all guilty of it.
Enjoy the new pipes for what they are if you do not like them post what you have so we can see and compare it will help us understand where you are coming from, I personally cannot wait for them to be ceramic coated as I will probably be sending my pipes (springs and all) to the same place:D
Some like twists some like straight, some like welded some like springs some just like to *****:p

Exactly! It’ll all come down to pulse tuning. The sheer size is enough to make power don’t think that’s in question. The real question is the pulse tuning, at what RPM and how strong will the 2.5” paired with that megaphone deliver the reverse pulse to the exhaust valve.

Those are questions no one currently has the answer to, so, I’ll be the guinea pig for all of us.

I do need to state, since it seems lost, I do like the carpenter offerings from a performance stand point. The brute is **** near the perfect performance oriented design.

When this opportunity came along, I saw a great chance to get an exhaust made that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible on a rocket 3, from a great builder, at a fair (not going to be disclosed) price. Could I have gone the safe route and bought a Brute? Yes, but I wanted to experiment a bit.

If you use the shop, be aware the owner rides HDs, probably best to not bad mouth the slow bikes with him :p

I hope it woks well. At least we know @Claviger will give us some honest numbers whether good or bad. Over the years in different forums I've seen people claim crazy numbers, but never seem to want to post a dyno sheet.

BTW, I like my springs :p
