I don't know what cross-country swim is but it's sound exciting. I must start training for my first 10km OWS race in Okinawa but I'm so lazy...

Cross country swimming is all open water where one swims between 1 day (Usually around 12 Miles) and six months at a time. I planned a six-month swim this coming summer but I cannot get off from work that long.

I'm sure you know that a 10Km swim is an olympic marathon. I do hope your water is a pleasing temperature for you. Good luck!

Thank you for all your comments. Finally, I got my R3.

Good morning brother. No swim for a few days, but right after the first of the year I begin taining for my next cross-country swim. I haven't picked a river yet, but the one this past summer was 224 miles in 15 days.

I'm impressed Boog. I was a strong swimmer and in the 60s was an avid surfer in Hawaii. I almost drowned on a 20 footer that broke my board in two one time and I attributed my excellent condition to getting out of it. I had convinced myself that I could swim around Oahu back then I always believed the swimming was the best all around body conditioner.

And for our Japanese Rocket riding friend, we loved Japan and lived there in Misawa/Aomori Prefecture in the mid-80s.

Phil, I do recall that we had several members from Japan on the other Rocket forum.

And check out this stunning Aomori motorcycle road.
