2006 rocket--too old to mod?

general question for the community..My 2006 rocket is 100% stock...sadly--money has always been an issue and I'm lucky to have this bike..no problems at all in 11 years now..would like to afford a newer model rocket-most likely a roadster and do some of the mods I read about in the forums...this is unlikely for now--but doing mods on my 06 might be possible...question is--what considerations are there when talking about a bike this age?is it too old?what mods might you recommend for modest increase in hp-performance and sound? and cost?
any info is appreciated..ps...I'm not a wrencher so would have the work done for me....don
As a 06 owner I feel Horrified you feel your bike is to old ...where do I start with this ???
first things first you own a engineering and design classic that will never age or go out of fashion your bike is representative of the vision that the triumph designers had the balls to build in the first place when the motorcycle and automotive world were using words like mass centralisation and environmentally friendly .
Your bike is the original concept that whole world looked at in disbelief before other versions such a the touring and roadster watered it down for the sake of more sales
would you consider a big block late 60's GM car to old to modify ? no neither would the Boys at Gas Monkey !
The term muscle bike may have been coined for other lesser bikes but there is only one true muscle bike and that's the triumph Rocket lll... there no replacement for displacement ...go big or go home
Your bike is exactly that ...yours you don't need to spend thousands to make it your own there are endless possibility's for mods and tuning
I have seen hundreds of R3's and no two have ever really been the same .
Be a biker ...see your vision BUILD IT and ride it with PRIDE

Rant over .

WOW !! Now that came straight from the heart..:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

RamAir would indeed qualify. Paul might be a bit reticent to recommend pipes off the cuff - He builds them. But others I'm sure will chime in.
guess I've read that more than a few times and forgot---wouldn't be opposed to a set of paul's pipes when the time comes...typical cost? and some pics maybe..

NO problems modifying any of the Rockets the older ones need upgrades but are modded using the same parts checkout CARPENTER RACING

So, I have an 05, and I'm having fun working on it, Bill helped me work on it last summer and every time we give it more HP, I love it more! If you're wanting some TORs and a bypass pipe, I may sell them to you when I buy headers!
Thanks for the post dale914--not in a financial position to buy a newer rocket at this time, but improving my 06 seems within reach. would like to know all of the mods you have done or plan to do to give me some ideas and I know I could get all the help from members I'd need...what exhaust will you put on if your selling the TORS? Would also like an idea of the costs involved--keep in mind I'm not a wrencher and the learning curve would be steep....would likely have some work done by a dealer....thanks again..doncuddy

how is 11-years old to old? h3ll we threw a set of wheels under my grandfather when he was 87, he was booking it everywhere after that, that was a pretty cool electric wheel chair type of thing
