CONNECTION ISSUE

Rick,
So sorry to read of your vexing issues.
I would be thru the roof pissed!

BTW - how are those Daytona boots working?
I finally got some that fit me and I am loving my Daytona Arrow Sport GTX!!!

I am wondering if the stepper motor is sticking on decel and the once stuck the idle hangs up. Have you clean and lubricated it? Did you pull the rubber boot down so you can spray the lubricanton tbe shaft where it goes into the motor? It pulls down easily and fits back up the same. Just a thought I had. I agree with closely chacking all vac lines and plug caps on the throttle bodies. Make sure you pay attention to the plastic el cheapo hose fitting where the three tb hose hook to the large map sensor hose as I have seen them crack easy when people are fumbling around under the tank.

Oh yeah. If it was a cracked T fitting or a leaky tube or cap, it would not go away. Will order a new set of tubes and caps as well as the T connector. Have a spare MAP sensor to try. Will have Rick at the shop reset the secondaries TPS. There is a Triumph Tune for the TOR slip-ons. I think it's been posted before. Do you know about it?

The GoreTex is smooooth. Can ride all day from day one. The cool thing is that if they ever fail you can send them to the factory for repairs or refurbishing.

It looks like they will never wear. Thank you.

I just bought the hoses, plug caps and a 4 way plastic fitting at the local auto parts store verses letting triumph have sex with me :)
As for the tors tune without seeing it I couldnt say much about it.

So glad you seem as pleased with yours as I am with mine!
I believe in this case you get what you pay for - Daytona boots ARE THE BEST for touring!

OK, one more report.

After TPS change and lube of all easily accessible connectors? Still with minor issues. Convinced my tech to reset the secondary TPS which I had messed with by error. Alan's software has no window to set the secondary TPS. He sincerely opines that messing with the ECU with Tune ECU is not a good thing. I explained that there are hundreds, probably thousands of bikes having their ECU maps and setting altered with Alan's software few complaints, mainly due to operator error. Rick is a nice guy and I just thanked him for working on the bike. Perhaps one day in an informal setting he will ask about Alan and Hans. I'm sure they would get along.

After picking up the bike it came home with a low idle problem. Loaded Tune ECU, tweaked the primary TPS, reset adaptations. Reboot and started perfect. 12 min tune and set her to rest. Today it was perfect. What a pleasure to have a predictable throttle and the bike settle to idle and purr. Under throttle, ha ha! Thank you Jesus. Thanks to all others who have helped.

The bike has been running fine, sick fine. Still has bouts of self limiting erratic throttle idle issues. Lubrication of the electric connections on these British bikes is necessary. Gremlins are to dealt with, bitters and or spirits of the distilled kind. When this bike wants to run well it is very gratifying thing to experience it's ride.

BTW, found the behind windshield Nirvana with a simple, cheap mod. Will reveal in RAA east.
