Ride
2020 TFC #385, 2014 R3 Roadster 230hp (BRUTUS)
Recently I acquired Ponters R3.
This thing is a work of art and is finally back on the road.
A few issues prior to riding was the wiring (Pretty messy) but hats all sorted now.
Fuel had gone really bad from sitting for so long so I had to drain the tank and flush a few times then wipe more crap inside it with a rag - then run fresh fuel through the fuel pump and changed the fuel filter then ran more fresh fuel through.
Bastard then would not start......... Spoke to @Neville Lush and he straight away said change the plugs and BAM it started straight away........
The right hand JW Speaker LED light had some kind of powder or something inside it - so i cut the front of the light off to find a packet of Silica Crystals turned to powder - so I replaced it and resealed the front with polyurethane sealant - ALL FIXED...
Added a better brake/tail light (two actually - one under the seat)...
Changed ALL oils and fluids - Got it registered (SKUTA) and took it for a spin and HOLY F*CK this this motors - I have only ridden it for 2 klms (time constraints) but keen to ride some more - OBVIOUSLY.....

Some Pics - I did happen....

**** - I had forgotten how special she is. I'd like more details on that headlamp surgery. The first Speakers did not have a "Gore" breather. I have a set of the early ones too (on the LandRover) - still OK but.........

I cut it at the joint then pried it off with a screw driver till it came away. Blee it out with compressed air removed the magnifiers and polished them. BUT I should have reassembled the light in an air conditioned room as it was a humid day and now has a small moisture patch (will keep an eye on it)

Do you have any old GoreTex stuff? You could drill a small breather at the rear and glue a small patch over. As the lamp heats it will drive moisture out. Gore actually sell breathers now - but only in bulk. I have some cheap fog lamps (halogen) that came with the cheap and cheerful version. If you know anybody who repairs camera gear they might have a DRY NITROGEN purge tank. Neat cutting job though - impressed.
