I've been lurking around for a very short time and have just started learning about these bikes. I put my CVO Ultra Classic up for sale and started shopping for a Triumph Rocket 3. My plan was to buy a Roadster, but I've ran across this Touring model with a supercharger and I can't help but to think about buying it now that my Ultra Classic has sold on ebay (pending payment).

I've rode a turbo'd Vrod before and it was pretty crazy fast, I'm betting this Rocket is much faster! I'm trying to come up with a reason to not buy it, but I can't think of anything other than reliability. You don't add this to your bike and not use it, so how reliable are they? Maybe this bike is being sold because it's already almost blown up? Any advice?

The seller says it's been Dyno'd at 250 Rear Wheel Horsepower with Stage 1 Kit, Stage 2 kit added 50 more Horse at 8 pounds of boost. It has 14,000 miles on it (I'm not sure how many of those miles were with the supercharger)

I would buy it today, if I would live on your side of the pond. And then I would make sure I get a steering damper, because the Touring tends to weave from 120mph.
Rockets are generally very reliable bikes, but I don't know anything about the blower kit reliability (since us mainland Europeans cannot have them by emission laws).
You can also look out for a Carpenter Rocket, they are just as crazy as the blower bikes.

I would also suggest you cat with @warp9.9 - He has possibly the "standard" ultra modified TTS (plus more) engine.
And knows their issues. If it breaks he knows and has pictures of everything. Plus repairs and upgrades.

It's no so much the power as low speed TORQUE. Speak to Scott (aka warp9.9).

I have an 08 Standard Rocket with the Stage 2. I installed it myself about 2 1/2 years ago.
55,000 miles on the bike, 30,000 with the blower. Absolutely no issues. I'm running the tune from TTS with TOR's exhaust. never been on a dyno so I don't know exact HP. Just guessing I'd say a little less than the 300 advertised. I do know that it runs very strong at any RPM. Eventually I plan to go with a Carpenter Exhaust, I,m sure it would breath better on the top end. About a year after install I changed to a higher volume fuel pump and increased red line to 7,000 RM.

Interesting, I am hoping to go the TTS route myself next year when I get some money together.

I believe TTS mentioned a while back on their facebook page that they make an oversize set of headers that still fit under the original chrome heat shields and look standard, they will mate up to tors silencers etc with appropriate link pipe and give a significant power increase.

Thats good to her about the long term reliability Pres10 what was the redline set at originally on the TTS tune? And do they use tuneboy?

Is your kit the one with a hydraulic clutch conversion? If so what is the clutch action like, lighter or heavier than standard?

And how does the increased performance feel in the real world, if you crack the throttle to full at 100mph does it pick up nicely? I have a standardish rocket apart from pipes, decat, ramair filter and hanso tune and was always a little disappointed with its performance above the 100mph mark. Used to fully faired sportsbikes I guess but would be nice if the supercharger could make the rocket go like one at higher speeds.

If you are going with the Carpenter exhaust I suggest you ride up there and have Bob dyno tune it for you, I think it would be money well spent.

That is awesome!
