Ford Mustang Encounter

I owned a 69 Mach 1 years ago when i was 18 even stock i don't think the Rocket would have a chance.;)

I had a 69' Mercury Cyclone, with a 428 Cobra Jet. Fast yes ! But not Rocket fast. Bone stock cars from the sixties were lucky to get into the 13's. They sure felt fast though. Kind of brutal in their power delivery. Not all smooth and polished like the cars of today. Wish I still had it :(

I had a Eureka fibreglass kit bolted to a VW floorpan and swapped the VW motor for a 1600 ford cortina motor with a 3/4 race cam, 2 barrel side draft webbers and extractors.
This baby would wheel stand in first gear  if you hit it too hard off the lights :):)

Sweet car. Not a big fan of Mustangs overall, but for some reason just really like the shape of the Fastbacks, had a Matchbox car of one as a kid and was one of my favorites too. Go figure.

This was one of my old cars (its a Ford too) it died a great death.

That looks like a prefect ? They were so indistructable you wore it like a badge of honour if you actually managed to kill one ! ;)

A buddy of mine had a Mach one with a 428CJ and he dragged it regularly. I think it was a good day when he dipped in the 13.9 range. Almost 60% of the weight on the front and crappy polyglass tires didn't help. Sure was a fierce beast though.

You got that right.

The 1969 428 Mustang Cobra Jet did the 1/4 mile in 14.4 seconds with a 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds (Car and Driver).
The 2010 Rocket 3 runs mid 11's with zero to sixty of 3.3 seconds (Cycle World).

Try again on computer not the phone

Yep 100e. We used to call it the Ford Defect, this is its end, it jumped like a brick, we did this with lapbelts only and MC helmets for safety, bent the steering wheel round the column from bracing ourselves after a few landings. Set fire to it before leaving, ahh the good old days.

Sad thing about this car was it had been re powered with a sweet 1500cc motor that was mint and went pretty good, the motor before the Xflow I think. Rest of car was junk though
