I was pulled over yesterday, 1st time in twenty years (71 in a 50) and 1st time on a motorcycle, I was over do!

I came around a curve and bam!! There he was. The trooper was very professional and thanked me for Stopping ( as soon as I saw his car move, I pulled over onto the shoulder of the road and waited for him) he said I know you could have out run me! Is this a common thing that motorcyclist do??

The trooper then asked me several questions, relevant to my driving record and experience riding. He then checked my credentials and then gave me a verbal waring, telling me to be safe and slow down. I thanked him and we both went our separate ways.

With all the negative publicity the police have gotten in the press lately I just wanted to share my experience!!

Of course, if I had been given a ticket, I probably would not be praising his professionalism. Lol

Maybe it was good I got pulled over, because less than a half hour later a motorcyclist was killed just 6 miles down the road from where I was stopped!!

A friend of mine told me, the motorcyclist t boned a car that pulled out in front of him, and was thrown into oncoming traffic and killed.

It's really terrible when a fellow biker is killed and my deepest sympathy goes out to his family.

Be careful out there gentlemen!!

The area I live in is now loaded with tourist and a lot of them drive around with their brains disconnected and makes our roads 2 to 3 time more dangerous than in the off season.

Be careful out there guys, the warm weather is here and a lot of driver are out there trying to kill you!!

Thanks Jag. Good for you and the officer. Respect goes both ways. It always worth giving it anyway. You do the right thing and hope the next guy does too.

same thing happened with me a while back overtaking on the inside lane (lane hoggers) doing 95 on the motorway with 70 limit.pulled me in had a good chat,he told me he knew why i cut up the inside, seemed more concearned about a car pulling into me than the speeding offence.he let me go on my way.yes the cops have a lot of bad press over here too but goes to show there are still a few good ones around

I had one pull me over for doing 80 in a 65 awhile back.

Chatted up my wife and I pretty good, we talked about bikes and the cold weather, and all sorts of stuff.

He said he would "help me out a bit" on my ticket

Then proceeded to write me up for doing 80 in a 65 o_O

But he was a nice guy though..... ;)

How come you have 20yrs and this is the first time !!! I have 40yrs and more tickets than I care to remember, at least 30 and a s##t load of warnings.

This last ride to RAA X in April & May was the first motor trip in 46 years where I was NOT pulled over at least once!?!?!?

20 years since the last time I was pulled over, like I said well over do.

Blessings are earned and some times we just push the envelope to the edge. Years back had one write up the whole ticket on a electronic device, then when I was to sign. The officer asked me my name again looked through the device and said "Have a nice day and get your license and update your insurance card." The following week off to DMV for my liscense, saw the same officer in uniform and thanked him again for warning. God loves us and keeps us safe. I stand on that.
