Thinking of adding an oil coller. Is there any real value in doing so ? Has anyone done so ? Please post details and pictures if you have added an oil cooler.

Bill.

I personally wouldn't think you would bother unless you were turbocharging the bike, though i may be quite wrong

JMTC..I bought one years ago for the RK air cooled. There were times i heard the engine clacking on those long hot days in August on the way to Sturgis. To be honest with you i'd save your money i really didn't notice any cooling difference maybe in the 1-3% range. The only reason i left it on ,it makes it a lot easier to change out the oil filter.:) As long as you maintain your cooling system you shouldn't have any problems.

I think the first step would be to monitor your oil temps while riding....If you are are not seeing high oil temps then the cooler is not going to do anything for you. I have felt the oil tank while riding and found it to be hot but not burn your hand hot.

BETTER YET RUN THE BEST OIL

i would think the only way you would need a cooler if you just kept making runs down the track.
