Yes @Wrecka he was a bullocky had a horse team too. Had the butcher shop and slaughter yard in Woodenbong from about 1940. Was Dad and his older brother Jeffo's job every Sunday to spend the day at the slaughter yards on a horse bringing the cattle up to the killing shed. They slaughtered everything that went through the Woodenbong butcher shop. Cattle, sheep, goat, chook, pig. Everyone in Woodenbong knew my Grandfather as Butch Jeffery. I only ever called him Butch. My Dad got that nick name for a few years but it didn't stick.

This is a photo of my Dad(sitting on his bike) and his brother Chas at the finish of the 1958 Auto Cycle Union Rally in Morecambe UK, which took 24 hours. Dad was riding a 1956 BSA 500 Single and Chas was riding a Triumph twin 500, they had to maintain an average speed, if you came into the check point too early they wouldn't let you and if you were too late you were locked out, dad reckons the average speed was 30 mph.
