About 10 of my mates are going. Thinking I will go. Leaving 5am Sat. Showers forecast on the coast, should be allright up on the Downs. Been awhile since I spent a night in my swag.

It's raining pretty steady here for the last 5 or 6 hours. Forecast heavy rain tommorow,I could be mad, a mate already at Leyburn with the camp area claimed and firewood collected said it hasn't rained much there yet. Packed up and pointed at the roller door, leaving local servo at 5am.

@bruce aussie, should be a good weekend out there, hopefully be dry over the other side of the hills.....I was planning on going as a mate is racing a Mark 1 Escort but I cannot make it now...

Saw a 1930's Ford stripped down for racing on a trailer behind a motor home heading out the Worrego Hwy on Thurs. Worth getting wet just to have a closer look at that one car.

My first visit to Leyburn sprints won't be my last. I'll be there next year. This go's up there with Greasefest and the Laverda Concourse as a must do every year. 196 cars doing 4 runs Saturday the first 3 in the wet and 3 runs Sunday in the sunshine. Must admit I only watched the first run this morning. A lot of carnage to some classic cars yesterday in the wet. 8 of us road up in torrential rain as far as Gatton then drizzle for the last 100klm to Leyburn. Des and Leonie were already there in their motor home with the firewood ready. Just a side note to those with CES pipes I was very carefull after Richards episode to keep my wet gear away from the headers. Still got a little spot of nylon melted onto them.

That's Peck's (RIP) White Harley in the previous post beside the yellow tent. He left it to his older brother Dave as long as he promised to ride it. Dave hadn't ridden a bike for over 30 years. He went and got his licence and has put over 20 thousand Klm on it in the 10 months since Peck passed away. I had a look this morning it's done nearly 175000 Klm and hasn't been apart but it's getting very noisy. Might need some work soon.

It's a bit hard to see Photo taken with my phone, this is a 1935 supercharged MG NB worth $500,000 sideways in the wet. Watched an immaculate 1969 HK Monaro loose it and take the back quarter off on a concrete barrier. Some blokes were risking big dollar cars in the wet yesterday. The orange Capri did some serious damage hitting a power pole outside the school.
