Point to point won't get you cos it didn't get a start reading cos it didn't see you, the vibration is a possibility I suppose but haven't heard any complaints. RadarRoys website can explain it better than I can . A stand alone radar detector even a Redline is no defense against laser . By the time it alerts the laser already has your speed

Keep us posted on the install!

No problem, I think I have it figured out as to how I want to mount the device. I also think I have it figured out how to recieve the information from the detector through to my Sena comms system. Lest amount of wires as possible, Ill send pics once I have it done.

I've had detectors mounted for probably 50-100,000 miles. No vibration issues at all. Only problem I ever had was with a V1 that somehow got some interference from my BMW's electrical system. It would alert at 4000 RPMs. No problem with the Escorts.

Cool beans as I also have a Sena.

The beltronics will recognise other r/d s. The magnesium case prevents police detection but not if it's mounted where they can see it. Turn it off if they are close or they may hear it. I have 2 and prefer to use dark mode, audio alarm only. I needed protection when running Perth to the eastern states. Never failed me, ever

Okay here it goes. Please remember with respect to my install, radar detectors are legal in the provinces I ride so I did not try to hide the device, just the hardware I used to do the install.

After some thought I came up with the idea to use GOPRO mounting hardware that way when I remove the detector I can install my camera if I chose.

I purchased the Kuryakyn power outlet as I needed a cigaret lighter socket for the escort live power cable. I drilled a small hole in the windscreen mounting bracket to accommodate the GOPRO helmet extension bracket. Everything attached quite snug.

I went for a ride to test things out and so far I couldn't be more pleased. Very little vibration on the unit unless I hit the odd rough spot in the pavement but it had no effect on the detector. Now this detector is GPS enabled and it stores the location of all known red light and speed cameras( fixed location) the detector itself is plug and play, very easy to use. You will notice in the picture of the detectors power supply there is a warning light and a couple of buttons, one of which is a report button. This is the Escort Live power cable and it works with an app on your iPhone or android phone. You go into your phone settings and in the Bluetooth settings you pair your phone with the charger.

As mentioned in earlier post about the only way you will beat a laser is to jam it, well there is another way...you need to know it's there in advance. As you drive, if you get a warning signal on the detector, you adjust your speed and as soon as you identify where the radar is located, hit the report button. What it does is marks the warning on the map within the app on your phone, it also alerts other drivers of the trap so that if they get close their detectors will alert them and visa versa. All that said this only works if your detector is Escort live enabled, some Bell detector have this option as well. I won't go int too much detail on it here as you can find loads of info on the net. Just look up escort live.

This is where the senna comes in. As the phone is paired with the detector, you get voice alerts through your phone. I still have some testing to do to ensure that all information the detector is producing is coming through the phone. I'll know for sure tomorrow as I'll be going on a longer ride.

Kevin....two things.

1) "unless I hit the odd rough spot in the pavement"....you must be riding in a different Edmonton than me. I have really noticed how rough the roads are this year.
2) I had the Escort 8500 in my car and I was able to purchase a power cable from them that had a bare wire end. It allowed me to wire it to a switched power source and eliminate the bulky cig lighter end....might be a good option for your bike install too.

OK a 3rd thing....If you keep buying so many accessories you are going to have to get a side car to mount them on as you will soon run out of room on the bike!

lol thanks Jeff.....
Due to the way the Escort live works I need access to the powersuply so that I can report traps, works great. As for the pavement comment....ive been practicing my emergency swerving on a regular basis to miss...I wouldnt call them pot holes....trenches maybe... As for the Acessories....hmmmmmm do they make side cars for the rocket:confused:

1olbull;
to answer your question about the Sena, the system worked perfect this morning. everytime I recieved an alert from the detector I was kindly warrned by a nice vioce in my helmet. There is no need to watch the detector, look for warning lights. You hear the "voice" you check your speed, easy as that. the voice also tells me what kind of threat its detecting, red light camera, speed camera X,K etc..... I drove a route this morning where I know the mobile photo radar hang out, For Jeff, St Albert Trail, the system worked perfect. It warned me of the treat with plenty of time to check my speed. All of this through the iphone, it recieves its info from the radar detector through a bluetooth connection between the phone and the power cord.

All I wanted out of this device was to warn me of the mobile radar guys....so far so good, for me it was worth the purchase.

While we are semi on the subject of blue tooth and sena ... I want to buy a good (not golden) crash helmet that has built in communications. I have not had good luck with add on attachments. Any suggestions or experience? I don't mind spending a few hundred for a good helmet with the ability to hear incoming calls (or alerts).
